 Mark Webb Joins Employers Direct as VP of Governmental Relations AGOURA HILLS, CA – February 13, 2006 – James E. Little, CEO/President and Chairman of Employers Direct Insurance Company today announced the appointment of Mark Webb as Vice President of Governmental Relations. Webb, a nationally recognized governmental relations expert, was most recently Assistant General Counsel and director of State Affairs for American International Group (AIG) for the Western United States. From 1997 to 2003, Webb was vice president of the American Insurance Association (AIA) in its Sacramento office. He will report directly to Mr. Little. "Mark Webb has been on the front lines of every major workers' compensation policy debate in Sacramento since 1993, and was one of the most active and trusted advocates for the recent California workers' compensation reform laws," stated Little. “This announcement underscores our commitment at Employers Direct to protect SB 899 and to continue to efficiently deliver timely benefits to injured workers and the premium savings to California employers promised by the landmark reform laws." Webb points out that 2006 will be a year in which several of the constituencies adversely affected by workers' comp reform will be aggressively attempting to roll-back employer gains through legislation and voter initiatives. He will continue to serve on several technical advisory committees at the Division of Workers' Compensation. He is a former Deputy Director of the Arizona Department of Insurance. He also has served on the California Advisory Committee of the Workers' Compensation Research Institute (WCRI).
